The Devil’s Game Plan for Our Children

Devotion: Monday – May 21, 2012

  1. The devil seeks to cause us to view our children as hindrances instead of the God-given gifts they really are.
  2. The devil seeks to cause us to place our children as low as possible on our list of priorities.
  3. The devil seeks to do all he can to cause us to be too busy or too tired to spend real quality time with our children.
  4. The devil causes us to not realize just how extremely important it is for us to give our children a Biblical and spiritual foundation.
  5. The devil causes us to not realize that our children learn most from the example we give them.
  6. The devil seeks to make sure that we do not take care of the spiritual needs of our children and seeks to make sure that our children are bombarded daily by all types of immoral thoughts.
  7. The devil causes us to fail to see the importance of bringing our children to Sunday School and church.
  8. The devil causes us to be apathetic about the fact that our children are subjected each day to forces of hell and evil.
  9. The devil seeks to make sure that we leave our children unprepared to face the principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places.
  10. The devil seeks to make sure that the foregoing numbers 1 through 9 are quickly forgotten or discarded.

The devil’s game plan is to destroy your children, and he depends on your lack of commitment to their well-being in order for his plan to work.

Summary

This devotion serves as a sobering reminder of the spiritual battles that target our children daily. It highlights ten specific ways the devil undermines parents’ commitment to nurturing their children spiritually, emotionally, and morally. From neglecting their priorities to failing to instill Biblical foundations, each tactic is a call to action for parents to remain vigilant, intentional, and committed to their children’s well-being. The message concludes with a stark warning: the devil’s success depends on our apathy.
